One of Farmers & Merchants State Bank’s four guiding principles is “we do the right thing.”  Charitable giving is an essential component of this ideal. We strive to have a charitable-giving program that is thoughtful, deliberate and impactful. One of our giving priorities is Hunger & Housing.

Farmers & Merchants State Bank is again holding our annual Tradition of Giving. From Monday, Nov. 4 until Friday, Dec. 13, please bring in a nonperishable food item or unwrapped gift to any of our three locations.  Money donations are also welcome.

We will match your donation, dollar-for-dollar and dollar-for-pound, up to $2,000 per location. All donations will be given to local shelters, food shelves, and neighbors in need. If writing out a check for your donation, they can be made payable to the specific Food Shelf we’re donating to in each area.  These are as follows:

  • Eden Valley – Eden Valley Area Food Shelf – 556 Brooks St N, Eden Valley, MN, 55329, (320) 453-3700
  • Pierz – The Pierz Area Food Shelf – 220 Main Street S. Apt. #5 – The Old Library Building, (320) 468-7134
  • Sauk Rapids – Catholic Charities Food Shelf  – 157 Roosevelt Road, Suite 100, St. Cloud, MN 56301, (320) 229-4560

Did you know?

  • In Minnesota, 7.5 million people visited their local food shelf last year?
  • 1 in 7 kids don’t have the essential nutrition required to thrive?
  • People 60 years or older are the fastest-growing group of food shelf visitors?

Please pass this along to family and friends. Thank you for helping making these stats a thing of the past.
